Selected as a featured ensemble for the 79th annual Texas Bandmasters Association Conference, the Carrollton Wind Symphony presents a program centered on reflection, legacy, and forward momentum.
“Beyond the Horizon” explores the idea that every musical and personal journey is shaped by what we choose to carry forward. Through a diverse and compelling repertoire, the program honors tradition while embracing innovation, creating a powerful narrative arc from past to future.
The performance includes a tribute to beloved former conductor Jim McDaniel, whose lasting influence continues to resonate within the ensemble, as well as the premiere of new works that represent the evolving voice of the wind band medium.
From the introspective beauty of Serenity by Gjeilo/Wilson to the vibrant energy of Havana Nights by Standridge, and culminating in the emotional power of symphonic masterworks by Giannini and Shostakovich, this concert invites audiences to stand at the horizon—reflecting on where we have been while stepping confidently into what lies ahead.
Because the horizon is not an ending, but a beginning—and what we carry forward shapes what’s next.
This concert is FREE to attend, thanks to donations from supporters like you.
